Application of RFID in intelligent automation management of tools and equipment

July 31, 2023

In the railway production management, the traditional tool management mode is relatively extensive, and there are management loopholes in the links of tool loss, asset identification, requisition, maintenance, and scrapping [1]. Therefore, it is imperative to propose a set of safe and efficient tool management solutions.

Before the tools are stored in the warehouse, a radio frequency identification (Radio Frequency Identification, RFID) label is first affixed, and the tools of this batch are scanned according to different categories, and then the archives are created in the system. When claiming repairs in the future, simply look up the RFID tag information in the system

That's it.

In order to facilitate the use of tools, the system requires the use of ultra-high frequency anti-metal RFID tags with a frequency of 902-928 MHz, and laser engraved QR code graphics on the surface of the tags. The label has a plastic shell, is small in size and wear-resistant, and can be firmly attached to the surface of the tool.

According to the installation situation, the multi-channel RFID reader selects 4-16 channels, the frequency is 902-928 MHz, it adopts RJ45 and serial port output mode, and the identification capacity is 500 per second.

On the premise that the on-site RFID scanning processing hardware in the appliance room and the on-site control node host are working normally, the system can realize various functions such as in-out, inventory, transfer, information query and statistics, addition and deletion of tools and appliances. Through the integration test, it can be seen that the processing logic of each function of the system meets the predetermined requirements, which proves that the function test has passed.

In order to solve various problems in tool management and realize standardized and intelligent management of tools, an intelligent automation management system for tools and equipment is designed. The system introduces RFID technology and two-dimensional code recognition technology, and adopts a combination of software and hardware to achieve unmanned

The effect of warehouse management, and finally realize the refined management of tools and utensils.
